Our first Kings Church staff responded to the invitation and call to move to Charlottetown in early 2020 with the passion and belief that we are sent out to earnestly declare and demonstrate the good news that Jesus saves.
Charlottetown has been on our heart since the move campaign, where we pivoted as a church into a
multi-site King Jesus Movement. Our hearts burn for the nearly seventy five thousand people who live
and work in the Charlottetown area that haven’t encountered and embraced the life saving power of
King Jesus. We believe that the best way to build a vibrant, healthy and beautiful community is by
continually worshipping Jesus and doing outward focused life on a mission together. After all, that
was Jesus’ way; so much so that the early Christians were called The Way.
Through many barriers of 2020 and 2021, the Lord has beautifully shown that the love of Jesus and
His church is as profound and resilient today as it was two thousand years ago. There were many
worship, missional and community building events over the eighteen months since early 2020 but we
officially opened Oct 2021. At this early stage we’ve already baptized people, hosted Alpha courses
and have shared the love and truth of Jesus with many. A beautiful counter cultural Jesus movement
of people is quickly forming here.
When you walk into one of our gatherings, you’ll experience a team of volunteers who immediately see
you, are youthful, multi-cultural, multi-generational, joy-filled, outward focused, and on the move
together. In an anxious world, we want you to encounter a people of peace and a non-anxious
presence. We resist a plastic church vibe and want you to feel an immediate community culture of
‘come just as you are’ with no pretence or judgement.
