Baptism is going public about your faith in Jesus and communicating to the world your heart-felt commitment to following Him. It's the next step after salvation.
According to the Bible, every believer is expected to be baptized as a public expression of the personal decision to follow Jesus. Symbolically, it connects us to the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus. As the Apostle Paul wrote, “For you were buried with Christ when you were baptized. And with him you were raised to new life because you trusted the mighty power of God, who raised Christ from the dead” (Colossians 2:12, NLT).
